J. Alexander Productions views good governance and strong internal management of our business as integral to our corporate social responsibility (CSR). Our company and associates are committed to doing their part to consistently give back to the community from which we work and live. We pledge to conduct our business in a socially and environmentally responsible manner, a committment that stems from our mission statement.
Those involved with J. Alexander Productions, learn to be consistently social cause-minded by...
a. providing free tickets to area non-profit organizations and to low income families to attend a performance preview of each Delaware All-State Theatre production (for many, this is their first theatre experience) b. selecting worthy, local nonprofit organizations to receive a percentage of the net profits from each J. Alexander Production. With DAST, we hand over the majority of the responsibility to come up with creative fundraising ideas, from concept to implementation, to the students involved with each production.
We strongly believe that teaching the importance of giving back to the communities in which you live and work is life-fulfilling.
In the past three years, J. Alexander Productions team has donated more than $25,000 in in-kind and monetary donations to area nonprofits including:
• Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children • Delaware Children's Theatre • Ronald McDonald House Charities of Delaware • Delaware Hospice • Wilmington Skate Park Project • Delaware Shakespeare Festival • Sojourner's Place • Aids Delaware • and many more

In 2010, J. Alexander Production's and Delaware All-State Theatre student performers and production interns organized DAST GIVES BACK "RUN FREEDOM RUN... A RACE FOR CLEAN WATER" walk/run which occured early June. The proceeds raised from this event were donated locally to DEEC (DuPont Environmental Education Center) at the Wilmington Riverfront as well as globally to www.water.org.
In 2009, we designated a portion of our proceeds to benefit The Delaware Children's Theatre (www.DEChildrensTheatre.org), a local nonprofit organization devoted to providing exceptional theatrical experiences for the entire family. Additionally, we donated over $12,000 in free tickets and advertising to community nonprofits. In 2008, we donated $3,000 in monetary support to Sojourner's Place and AIDS Delaware, two worthy local non-profit organizations, and offered thousands of dollars in free tickets and advertising, making theatre accessible even for those who couldn't afford to attend.
The term So-cial refers to a characteristic of living organisms. It always refers to the interaction of organisms with other organisms and to their collective co-existence, irrespective of whether they are aware of it or not, and irrespective of whether the interaction is voluntary or involuntary.
We believe that the art of PERFORMANCE epitomizes this "act" brilliantly!
