NEXT TO NORMAL AUDITIONS at the Everett Theatre in Middletown, Delaware
AUDITION DATES/TIMES: * Sunday, January 29th -- 1:00-4:00 PM * Monday, January 30th -- 6:30-8:30 PM
Callbacks (if needed) will take place on Tuesday, January 31st from 6:30-8:30 PM.
The directors seek older teens (age range: 16 to 19) and adults (age range: 20 to 50) to fill six roles. All parts open and require strong singers. Please come prepared to sing 32 measures of a pop/rock song which shows your range. Songs from NEXT TO NORMAL are acceptable, or can be from other rock-type Broadway shows (eg. Rent, American Idiot, Spring Awakening, etc.). Non Broadway pop/rock songs are also acceptable. An accompanist and/or CD player will be provided. Please bring "marked" sheet music or musical track on CD. (Please note: if using a CD track, test it in a CD player prior to your audition).
Audition may also include cold readings from the script. CASTING: DIANA - Sexy. Sharp. Delusional bipolar depressive. 30s-40s E3 - F5 DAN - Diana's husband. Handsome. Genuine. Constant. Tired. 30s-40s B3 -B5 DR. MADDEN/DR. FINE - On the young side of ageless. Assured. A rock star. 30s A3 - G5 GABE - Diana's son. Almost eighteen. Dashing. Gentle. Bright. Playful. Everything a mother could ask for. 17-18 yrs old A3 - B5 HENRY - Seventeen. Musician, romantic, stoner, slacker, philosopher king. 16-18 yrs old A3 - B5 NATALIE - Diana's daughter. Sixteen and trying to be perfect. It's not going well. 16-17 yrs old G3 - F5 NEXT TO NORMAL opens on Friday, March 9th, 2012 and will run for two consecutive weekends (Friday - Sunday). This will be a tight rehearsal process and short production period.
